Prescription Assistance Program Offered

Jan 2008 - Design Benefits has added to their portfolio of health care related services by offering a prescription assistance program. This program is available nationwide to individuals and their families who need maintenance medications but are unable to afford them.

Prescription Assistance Programs (PAPs) provide free or low cost prescription medicine to people who are uninsured or under-insured and meet income guidelines. These programs are sponsored by the pharmaceutical companies who manufacture the medicine and are not to be confused with prescription discount services such as Together Rx Access.

Unlike other programs, the Design Benefits MedPro program actually assists the individual with the application process and provides the necessary patient advocacy that are a requirement of some PAPs.

Wellness Program Now Available

Aug 2007 - Design Benefits is pleased to announce the availability of a national interactive online wellness program to employers and organizations. Corporate health and wellness programs are becoming an integral part in managing escalating health care costs to slow or prevent the growth of an unhealthy employee population.

Wellness programs have shown impressive returns and remarkable results. Health care costs for companies and organizations that offer Wellness programs are significantly reduced.

The Design Benefits MedPro program is committed to assuring that our clients have access to medications from the Prescription Assistance Programs (PAPs). Their foundation for delivering exceptional customer service is based on integrity and commitment to performance thus providing a superior standard of processing and administrative services.

Prescription Assistance Programs (PAPs) provide free or low cost prescription medicine to people who are uninsured or under-insured and meet income guidelines. (“Under insured” can mean your specific prescription medication may not be covered under your drug plan).

"The MedPro professionals have a comprehensive understanding and database of Pharmaceutical Company Prescription Assistance Programs. This allows them to provide efficient service and a streamlined application process."

Prescription Assistance Programs (PAPs) are sponsored by the pharmaceutical companies who manufacture the medicine and are not to be confused with prescription discount services such as Together Rx Access.

In circumstances where medications are not offered by Prescription Assistance Programs (PAPs), MedPro takes the extra step to conduct special inquires to seek additional avenues to help provide access to needed medications.

For individuals and families who do not meet the Patience Assistance Programs’ eligibility requirements and income guidelines yet experience financial hardship in paying for their medications, MedPro will assist them in seeking other ways to obtain the medications they need at favorable rates.

Many companies and organizations tout their services for access to the Prescription Assistance Programs (PAPs), however what individuals actually receive is an application for a PAP but no assistance in the application process. Nor do these companies and organizations provide the advocate services necessary that are a requirement of some PAPs before an individual is able to access medication.

There are more than 475 Patient Assistance Programs (PAPs). Each pharmaceutical company’s sponsored program has it own eligibility guidelines and required documentation. These Prescription Assistance Programs (PAPs) change frequently - drugs are added to or deleted from the programs; eligibility requirements change; and application forms are revised. (Use of outdated application forms are a frequent cause of automatic rejection by a PAP)

An application is required for each medication (and every refill) on the Patient Assistance Programs (PAPs). For individuals, many taking an average of four medications, this process is cumbersome, time consuming and daunting. As a result, only a small percentage of people are able to access medication from these programs on their own.

The MedPro professionals have a comprehensive understanding and database of Pharmaceutical Company Prescription Assistance Programs. This allows them to provide efficient service and a streamlined application process.

Through the Medication Access Evaluation Service, our MedPro professionals will:

  • Conduct an initial evaluation of your particular situation
  • Match your individual prescription(s) to the appropriate programs
  • Review and verify the eligibility requirement for each program
  • Inform you of your options and recommend the programs that meet your needs
  • Provide an eligibility determination for Patience Assistance Programs

Once you are ready to apply for the Prescription Assistance Programs the MEDPro processing department will:

  • Obtain the application forms and complete your application process
  • Act as your advocate if required
  • Become the communication link between you, your physician’s office and the Pharmaceutical Companies
  • Order your refills as needed
  • Notify you when it is time to renew your applications
  • Answer your questions and make updates to your information
  • Stay current on trends and changes in available programs and how they affect your situation
